29 Days of Quiet,
Sunday Meditations
For he knows how we are made; he remembers that we are dust. As for mortals, their days are like grass; they flourish like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place is no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.
Psalm 103:14-18

Yep. It was the Ash Wednesday service. (More about that this Wednesday.)
Perfect scripture for Lent!
Psalms is always appropriate. Always.
The Word is amazing like that, isn't it?
Love the lectionary and how it brings the saints together. I have had a hyacinth blooming in my window for weeks and the smell is just overwhelming sweet. I know you are enjoying yours from Deidra.
You are on the same page as Deidra...great thoughts.
Beautiful post and I can smell those from here!!
I love the aroma of hyacinths. It's fill the whole room and sometimes the whole house.
I've mentioned that "we are but dust and so need Him" in a couple posts in the past. Interestingly I had not looked to see where that came from.
So comforting to know that our God knows us so well. When we stumble, or are down, He knows how we were made and that we are but dust. He is standing there with his hand out to help pull us up. He is there to comfort. He sent his son who knows what it is like to be alone, tired, sad, and happy.
Thanks for this scripture. I needed it today.
His everlasting to everlasting love is all we can rely upon. I'm one grateful and appreciative woman!
Lilies partially lit by rising light.....heralding the coming resurrection joy. The eye of the photographer must know the heart of the Lord.
