Time Well-Spent
I wanted to let you know that during June, July and August I will post on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule instead of five days/week. While this may not be the very best platform-building strategy, it's a necessity for my family right now.
You see, I have two boys, ages six and nearly-ten. And these two boys love nothing more than to spend time with me and their dad. How much longer will that last, I ask myself? Another year, or two or three? So while I am still doing everything in my power to build a viable platform and get my book published, if that does indeed come to fruitition someday, I wouldn't want it ever to be at the expense of my family.
So instead of five posts a week this summer, I'll be doing a little more of this:
And this:
And this:
And this:
And this:
And I hope you will, too!
What kinds of summer fun do you have planned? And do you have any strategies for eeking out a little more relaxation and fun and a little less work? Do share!

Oh, Michelle, enjoy your boys! Like you say, one day you will have alllllll the time in the world to blog :)
It looks like you have a wonderful summer lined up! Yes, they'll grow up.
My daughter skipped right over the "I don't want to be with YOU" phase. I remember once, at 15, she passed up a movie outing with friends to go with me to visit her grandparents. Fourteen years later I'm still proud of the choice she made in that moment.
Whether your beautiful boys go through that stage or not, it's always the right choice to spend more time with them.
Perfect choice. Hopefully we'll be around sometime this summer and we can go do some of those fun playthings together!! :)
Perfect strategy. :)
More snow cones, please.
"This" looks like Sooooo much fun! Strategies? The only one I can think of is just doing it, being intentional -- like you're doing.
Happy Boy Summer to you!
A very wise choice that will bear MUCH glorious fruit! :) Enjoy it all immensely!
I hope you have a wonderful summer.
Hmmm, I have noticed a shift in my schedule during this ramp up in kid activities and summer outside busy-ness. I do more writing in bed at night, after everyone is asleep. This does mean less sleep for me, but I figure I have all winter to sleep!
Good for you! You know you won't regret this decision. I'll be thinking of you and your boys and me and my boys run around in sprinklers, eat snow cones, etc this summer. Boys are the best :)
Have a fun summer, Michelle. It is interesting . . . when I went from 5 days a week, to 3 days a week . . . I started to get a lot more comments. I like reading blogs that post 3 days . . . not so overwhelming.
Fondly,
Glenda
The nest is empty here Michelle, so one season seems to slip quietly into another. However, I sure do hope to get to spend time with the Grands. They are getting older and are so busy - hard to squeeze us old folks in :-)
I think you have chosen wisely. I also think the Father will multiply the blessings as you do what you know to be best.
You should do all of that!
*throws a "weener" on the grill for Michelle*
:)
good choice.
I think you are building a better platform by taking this time with your sons. Three days a week? That's plenty!
As the old saying goes, "Children won't wait." And if I don't miss my guess, summer will fly by. Sounds like fun is in store.
As for finding more time for relaxation, I have a strategy for keeping weekends free of chores. It might not work for everyone, but, back in the day, it worked for me.

Great choice, Michelle! My youngest is graduating in just a few days and headed off to college in the fall, so I will be trying to spend as many moments with her as possible this summer.
And I hope you enjoy every well-deserved moment!
I am so glad you posted this! I am so glad that even 10 year olds want to spend time with their mamas! My eldest is almost 7. ;) Enjoy your time!!
Yummy! The perfect slow-down summer is in the works!
People will watch for your posts--I doubt it will slow down your stats. :)
