“Why do moms always want kids to hurry up?” Rowan asks one morning as I tear through the house, snatching backpacks and lunch boxes and homework assignments, tossing snacks into zip lock baggies and yelling over my shoulder, “Hurry up! Hurry up! Get your shoes on – it’s time to go!”
Here's what I didn't say though:
Moms tell kids to hurry up because kids are slow. Moms also tell kids to hurry up because moms do too much, too fast. At least that’s the case for me.
...I'm thrilled to be guest posting over at The M.O.B. Society, where my friend and fellow Nebraskan Erin is a co-founding editor. Meet me over there for a story about slowing down...

This was great. I love the 2 hour walk that was at their pace. I, too, am always in a hurry, even when I don't have a set schedule. My husband is much better at slowin me down and I praise God for that.
Thanks for sharing!!
Isn't funny how slowing down often helps us put things in perspective. Your walk sounds wonderful.
I jumped over and read, and I loved it. I have to force myself into that slower perspective, but I'm always glad I did! Thanks for the reminder.
